Members of WEAll England and others are engaged in projects that implement Wellbeing Economics. They are both inspiring and informative in establishing wellbeing economic principles in communities and nations.
This page/section will showcase examples of a Wellbeing Economy's activities and projects.
Many wellbeing projects work by empowering local communities with more control over their own environments. Engaging communities within decisions that affect them has been demonstrated to create better outcomes for its residents, when done correctly.
Healthier Lives is spearheading a wellbeing project in Salford in Greater Manchester.
The town has been suffering from growing inequality in health and wealth. There is a ten-year difference in life expectancy in different parts of the city, for example, and the low-wealth areas are not significantly benefitting from the developments and regeneration taking place.
The project is working with residents and Salford City Council to address some of the many social and environmental challenges. Heather Lives has brought many principles of wellbeing economy to the project, such as Community Wealthbuilding, Co-Production, Reimagining the Purpose of Town Centres and Live Well.
